Torregalli Castle

This castle belonged to the Nerli family (one of the wealthiest in Florence during the 15th century) and was part of a system of fortifications in the Soffiano area. In the following century, a walled garden and a Renaissance loggia were created. During the seventeenth century, ownership passed to the Galli family (for this reason the entire surrounding area began to be called "Torre Galli"). Today the restored Baroque frescoes attributed to Baccio del Bianco, the Italianate garden with its nymphaeum loggia, and other gardens with entryways, as well as all the external parts of the building complex can be visited by appointment.
