It is the heart of Scandicci and until a few years ago it housed the town hall which was then moved to the adjacent Resistance area. But it is here that city life had its most important moments, and the square that had long been without a name, was first called Umberto I and then, after World War II, Giacomo Matteotti. A way to emphasize the anti-fascist spirit of the town which until 1929 was called Casellina e Torri. A story told through the tombstones that can be found under the arcades of the old town hall transformed first into a library and then into an Urban Center.
