The first thing that will catch your eye when you arrive at this cemetery, is the finely sculpted pietra serena and travertine façade painted with the coats of arms of the Misericordia and Florence, along with those of the ancient Arts of Florence. Dating back to 1898, this cemetery was built to replace the earlier Pinti Cemetery. The cemetery contains the chapels of many of the most illustrious Florentine families, as well as the tomb of Artemio Franchi after whom the stadium in Florence is named.
