Home of the Engineering Faculty of the University of Florence since 1973, Villa Cristina is actually an old building dating to the 14th century. Also known as “Villa Labouchère”, it was the property of the Dell’Accetta family, and of many other noble families and illustrious persons. In the 1800s it belonged to Florentine painter Landini and his wife Cristina, who gave the villa its present name, which has been maintained despite later changes of ownership.
