Located at the start of the ascent of Via dei Cappuccini is the magnificent shrine by Antonio Marini (created in 1854) and the Church of Santi Francesco e Chiara a Montughi. The church was built in the Renaissance style and houses many precious works of art, such as Vision of the Child and Saint Apollonio da Padova by Lorenzo Lippi and the Crucifix of the Humiliated dating back to the 1400s.The church was incorporated into the monastery dating back to the 1300s. It was founded by the Order of the Humiliated, but after the siege to Florence in the sixteenth century, the monastery was taken over by the “Observants” and then by the Capuchin friars.
