Documented since 1222, the name of this church derives from "Monte degli Ughi" and refers to the fact that the Ughi family had their residence here in the 11th century. In addition to works of art such as the stuccoes that decorate the rectory loggia, an interesting fact is that from 1997 to 1999, Athanase Seromba was assistant pastor here under false pretences, in an attempt to escape the international warrant for his arrest for crimes against humanity.
