Villa Favard

Commissioned by Baroness Fiorella Favard and built by architect Giuseppe Poggi in 1858, this sumptuous villa overlooking the banks of the Arno River was one of the last great noble residences to be built in the center of Florence. After careful restoration, for some years it has been home to the Polimoda international fashion school, which boasts Europe’s first fashion library with 22,000 fashion and photography books and 400 complete collections of magazine archives. As this is a school, it is possible to access the Villa only with special permission.
