Dating back to the 1300s, the villa surrounded by this park was used, throughout the 1800s, as a shooting lodge by a branch of the Strozzi family, which is why it was named Lo Strozzino. It owes however, its current appearance to Giuseppe Fabbricotti, an entrepreneur from Carrara, who bought both the villa and the park in 1864. A place definitely worth visiting, filled with plants, birds and architectural works such as the small temple, the Pantheon-style chapel and the fountain. The famous Albero della Pace was a 24-meter-tall cedar of Lebanon with a branch that had neither a beginning nor an end ( which explains the name “The Tree of Peace”). Only the trunk and a few main branches remain as of today.
Access to the park is also through the neighboring Giardino Tosco Laziale, with entrance at 24 Via Stibbert.
