An interesting example of Italian Rationalist architecture, this building, inaugurated in 1940, began life as a social club for the employees of Manifattura Tabacchi. After the war, it was used as a ballroom and venue for boxing matches. Since the 90s it has been the seat of the Puccini Theatre whose programme includes satire, prose and drama, dance and music fusion, as well as “off” (or alternative) theatre. In recent years, highly respected actors such as Dario Fo, Claudio Bisio, Alessandro Gassman, Alessandro Benvenuti and Paolo Rossi have appeared here
