This villa once belonged to the Russian Demidoff family ( Nicola Demidoff was Ambassador to Tsar Alexander I) and is one of Florence’s most beautiful nineteenth-century buildings. Severely damaged during World War Two, the old building fell into a dilapidated state. Since 2012, however, the villa has been undergoing major restoration works to convert it into apartments for residential use.
