Basilica of San Miniato al Monte is a unique example of Romanesque architecture. The foundation dates to the 11th century and it is dedicated to San Miniato, the first martyr of Florence. The façade in white and green marble has a unique geometric pattern and the interior features frescoes, mosaics and classical and Byzantine capitals. From the churchyard you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.
