Do you remember I Magazzini Criminali? An irreverent name which well-described this theater’s alternative approach. The 1980s in Florence were, in fact, a new Renaissance during which young people gave free play to their creativity. That seed was nurtured and cherished by Scandicci’s Teatro Studio, named after Mila Pieralli, the town’s forward-thinking mayor at the time, who planned to transform Scandicci into a center projected into the future. Teatro Studio is now part of Fondazione Teatro della Toscana and is a place of experimental theater and, above all, of theatrical production.
