Located in the heart of the historic centre, just a short walk from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Teatro della Pergola was founded in 1657 by the Accademici Immobili. For more than 350 years, it has been one of the iconic theatres in Florence and today it represents one of the most important theatres in Tuscany. It hosts major national and international shows, offering spectators the performances of the best actors and actresses. The Teatro della Pergola, however, provides not only performances of various kinds, but also guided tours to visit the most hidden spaces, such as the workshops, basements, storerooms and monumental rooms.
