If you are sensible to the charm of the industrial and steampunk aesthetic, this place will touch your heart. Built around the mid-1800s, Stazione Leopolda operated as a railroad station only for about ten years, and then it was converted into government offices in the years of Florence as Capital of Italy, and into a warehouse and even a bullet factory in the following years. Owing to its large and beautiful spaces, starting from the 1990s, it has been used as a location for cultural and contemporary creativity events and is currently managed by Pitti Immagine. Stretching over an area of about 6 thousand square meters, this train station consists of two main spaces: the Station and Alcatraz (the warehouse), while the square facing the main entrance was redesigned by architect Gae Aulenti.
