Piazza del Bandino is in Gavinana district, and it is named after Bandino di Bencivenni Baroncelli, founder of the Bandini family. The square was created in the early 20th century in the centre of the Bandino neighborhood and it housed the ‘Trattoria della Barriera a Ripoli in Bandino’, a refreshment bar that served wines from neighboring farmhouses. Over the years, the square has become a popular meeting place, keeping the neighborhood’s tradition and identity alive.
