Monumento ai Caduti di Pian Albero

Monumento ai Caduti di Pian d’Albero is a memorial located in Piazza Cardinale Elia Dalla Costa, in Gavinana district. The monument was inaugurated on June 20, 1970 in honor of the partisans of the 22nd Garibaldi Brigade ‘Vittorio Sinigaglia’ who fell on June 20, 1944 at the Pian d’Albero farmhouse on Monte Scalari. The work, realized by the Florentine sculptor Marcello Guasti, features a reinforced concrete base with steel bands engraved with the names of 38 partisans and a steel structure representing a lamp composed of intersecting circles.
