The history of this old stone house in the street of the same name is shrouded in a veil of mystery. Legend has it that its bare, austere appearance (it almost gives the impression of a house finished in a hurry) is due to the hand of the Devil: the builder sold his soul to Lucifer, so that he could finish the building in one night.
Other stories say that it was the home of the well-known Florentine painter Agnolo di Cosimo di Mariano, better known as Bronzino.
