Teatro Cartiere Carrara is one of the main theatres in Florence. Built near the Arno River on land that once housed a paper mill industrial complex, it has been active since 1978, when it was called Teatro Tenda. It offers shows, concerts and artistic events and among the celebrities who performed on are Patti Smith, Ligabue, Nick Cave, Muse, Cesare Cremonini and Joan Baez. Over the years it has changed ownership and name several times, until 2024 when it adopted its current name.
