Department of Architecture - University of Florence

The headquarters of the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, located in Via della Mattonaia, 8, are located within the complex of the former Convent of Santa Verdiana. Acquired by the University of Florence in 1986, it has undergone restoration and renovation work, aimed at improving its functionality and recovering the spaces damaged by its long use as a prison. While retaining the charm of traditional Florentine architecture, the building features classrooms, laboratories and spaces for archiving projects, as well as study and discussion areas for the many students attending degree courses.
