Sacro Cuore al Romito Parish Church

It stands where the houses of the ancient hamlet of Romito used to be, named for the small oratory dedicated to Saint Lucia, which an anchorite (a hermit, hence the term “Romitorio” or hermitage) had built under one of the arches of the Roman aqueduct, partly visible until the nineteenth century.

The building dates back to 1925. Renovated in 1947 due to damage suffered during the Second World War, the last measure was the construction of the current portico in 1951.
