Artemio Franchi stadium is the home of ACF Fiorentina. Located in Campo di Marte district, it is one of the most famous stadiums in Italy. It was built by the architect Pier Luigi Nervi, and, inaugurated in 1931, it is in the Italian rationalist style. Among its distinctive characteristics it presents helical external stairs and the famous Maratona Tower. Originally named ‘Stadio Giovanni Berta’, it later became Municipal, and in 1993 it was named after Artemio Franchi, former president of the FIGC and UEFA. Now it seats 43,000 spectators, but in the future its capacity will be larger, thank to renovation works started in 2024.
